Retro Robots in Vector Format

July 27th, 2010 | Posted in Art, Print

These robots were created as a fun project for myself.  I’ve always been inspired by how a combination of simple lines and shapes can come together to create something so complex and creative.  These retro robots can be used to create an online comic strip, cartoons, flash animations, wacky logos or simply put them on your desktop wallpaper.

Inspired by old retro robots, this colorful vector collection includes a variety of robots from your basic toy retro robot to a more futuristic space-man. While technology has advanced so rapidly, the robots we envisioned during the 1940′s to 1980′s never came to existence as they were portrayed, except as childhood toys or hobbies.

This set of retro robots includes a good building blog to create new robots. Easily replace body parts and change colors to create your own design. Use metal color variations and create your own tin-man, or use bright color combinations and odd angles to create a cute female cyborg.

Retro robots can be used in various applications:

  • Comic book designs
  • Abstract 3d models
  • Ideas for robot sculptures
  • Retro movie posters
  • Nostalgia and memorabilia designs
  • Retro toys
  • T-shirt designs
  • Cartoon characters for comic strips
  • Birthday Invitations and more
